ABOUT OUR CHURCH
The site of our church is monastic in origin and is first mentioned as a religious foundation in 625. St. Oudoceus is recorded as having retired here and a subsequent church was constructed in the Middle Ages. Nothing now remains of the earlier church. The present building was designed by John Pollard Seddon and was built between 1859 and 1861. Further construction, including decoration of the interior, was undertaken in 1869. The church remains an active parish church.
In the Life of St. Oudoceus, Einion, King of Glywysing, is said to have been hunting a stag amongst the rocks and woods of the river Wye; when the stag reaching the cloak of Oudoceus lay down on it, the hounds were unable to touch it. Einion then made a gift of land to the saint.

CHURCH LADS AND CHURCH GIRLS BRIGADE
In partnership with the Church Lads and Church Girls Brigade in Tintern, led by Alan Carter, we offer fun and fellowship to young people from 5 to 21 years. They take part in outdoor and indoor activities and games and learn skills that will help them in their future lives.
